What is killing him most is the continued Jota selection, one which made no sense. Nobody had him starting. It handicapped us.

That game was screaming out for Nunez to start, someone with a physical presence to work their defenders (as he did when he came on at PSG whose defenders had the deck chairs out before that). Playing up long balls to a slow, diminutive poacher who in 60 minutes on the field made 4 passes. He was literally a passenger.

You handicap Mo when you have nothing alongside him to play off, no-one dragging defenders away from him (which Nunez would do), plus no supply from right back either. Newcastle didn't nullify our most dangerous player, Slot did.

That's just your opinion though, it's not indisputable fact. Jota has been very effective at times in the 9 role over the years. In fact, some even suggested at times that he is a better finisher than Salah. That isn't true, of course, but the fact remains he has played well in that role in the past.

Clearly, he is a player who is currently lacking in form and confidence since coming back from his most recent injury. The injuries are unfortunately the biggest restriction on what he has been able to do in a Red shirt. I think he's a class act and also a very good player but they say your best ability is your durability. That's the biggest worry with Jota and why i'd be looking to replace him with a player like Cunha (also from Wolves) in the summer.

If Mo joins in with them (and penalties are topping up his stats of late) then these points can go.

We need a game, hopefully against Everton where goals start to come for some of these misfiring forwards. 

If not we are looking at praying Cody comes back with some form, midfield chipping in, goals from set plays and the finishing line coming just in time to save us. 

This is the same mass panic, aka "knee jerk" reaction we saw here after the "2 points dropped" at Newcastle. The gap then was 6 points, now it's double that, but the doubters are still going wild.

It took 6 months for us to not score at least 2 goals at home, so even if the forwards apart from Salah are not contributing much, it doesn't mean the goals dry up.

The league is won, it's just a question of what week it is confirmed.

Ali has concussion and will be fine by the time Blueshite come to town, Grav’s injury is the same one from the cup final, not considered serious so hopefully a few days rest will be all he needs, not sure if Konate’s serious either, and just precautionary, so again should ok ??
