Aye seen that the other day on Spotify. Haven't got round to listening to it yet but I'm not a massive James fan, there's only a handful of their songs I really like.

The Boss played this in his set the other night along with a fair few from this album.

Sounded great live and had it on in the car today

Apparently first wrote this about 50 years ago.

That and Song for Orphans are absolute screamers. Inspired decision by Bruce to dig them from the demo tapes and re-record them with that classic E Street sound. The production on those first three E Street Band albums of the 21st century (The Rising, Magic and Working on a Dream) were a lot cleaner and shinier. But they missed the clatter and vivacity of his E Street albums from Born in the USA and before. Letter To You really brought it back to the feeling of Bruce and the E Street all in the same room, all having a blast. And all thanks to Stevie van Zandt who told him to go back to recording as a full unit together.

If it was his last ever album with E Street (he's said nothing either way I believe) it would be a fitting finale.

Letter to You is one of my all time favourite albums from the band.

      It's fantastic

Yeah, I agree. It came bang in the middle of COVID as well so it always takes me back to that strange period in October 2020 when we all tried to get out and about as much as we could in the naive hope that the worst was over and that maybe we wouldn't descend into a winter lockdown.

I love that Bruce was there throwing out this terrific record that was a lovely highlight of that whole period.

One of my favourite things about Bruce - an endless supply of deep cuts and recordings that will always surprise and delight.

I love the lo-fi feel of this and the nostalgia. Beautiful, innocent song.

Odd...for such a ubiquitous song I've not listened to it in a long long time so sourced it out and listening to it now. It's fantastic - what a melody and very nostalgic. I kind of went off Coldplay, but boy did I like them in the 00s. It wasn't cool, I wasn't cool but I didn't give a F**k then and I don't give a F**k now. Terrific band at their peak.

Love Coldplay. Clocks is one of my all time faves, Yellow is one of my better songs from them.
