He's an amazing player to watch on his day. A genuine world class midfield maestro....
Pity that we're possibly only going to see him play 20 more games in the famous Liverpool red shirt by the time he leaves us, in 2026...

      Sublime footballer on his day

If we got 20 starts from him before he moves in next summer would be nice.

      Report from 2 days ago....

      Thiago Alcantara

The veteran playmaker is back in training after a hip injury ended his 2022-23 season prematurely.

Liverpool may have him ready for action soon but no timeframe has been set, with Klopp last week describing Thiago as being ā€œreally close but not there yetā€ in terms of his return.

I would still start Endo next Sunday and if Thiago is fit, will introduce him around 65th minute, if not Bajectic instead of Thiago.

It doesnā€™t sound like Thiago will be even ready for the bench on Sunday....

Bajcetic was on the bench against Bournemouth so I'd expect he's ahead of thiago.

Thiago for me is a bonus. I don't think about him or factor him in. I expect him to be injured in some way. If he's fit and available that's a big bonus but not something to rely on

If we could 10 mil for him, I'd take it and use to reinvest immediately. Sometimes athiago is absolutely worldclass for us. Other times he seems to not quite fit, and it's mostly off the ball. But more often than not, he isn't available. He's leaving for free next summer anyways, and we have to stop letting this happen. Historically speaking, we know he won't be available as often as we like, and it probably gets worse since he's another year older. Sale sale sale. In this market, with these prices, you takenall the money you can get, you're gonna need it.

I'm fine keeping Thiago around but we need to just look at him as a bonus when he's fit. Although you do wonder if he's a progress stopper.

I would agree but only if the intention is to actually reinvest it. That doesn't seem to be the intention right now. I'd rather keep him and hopefully we can get 20 odd games from him. So much leadership has left the squad so he will be important I think.

      Canā€™t disagree at all

I think if we hadnā€™t sold Fabinho and Henderson more  then he would have gone

For what, mate? We have 110m sitting in the bank. We don't need an extra 10m to go sign a proper midfielder. We don't need that now and we didn't need that a month ago. Its too late now. Nobody will sell you any player of the quality you need with less than a week to go in the window unless you pay a lot more than the market value of the player.

The question is not wether we need to sell Thiago or not. The question is, once again, why the F**k have we spent all summer doing F**k all. We had more than a month and a half after selling Fabinho and Henderson to figure something out and here we are, 5 days from the end of the window, discussing imaginary plans while the squad is one or two injury away from the same sh*t we lived last season, and the season before it and the season before that.

      Klopp on the CB depth:
      Quote
''We need to be lucky with injuries''

My question is when the F**k have we been lucky with injuries, JK? Are you taking us for idiots or what? Matip, like clockwork, gets injured every 2 games if not in training. Konate is a muscle injury machine and the rest of your CB squad is VVD, Gomez and Phillips. F**k off with your ''luck''. Nothing to do with luck when everyone and their grandma has been calling this sh*t for months ad months and we're not even 3 games into the season and this is the state we're in. F**k off.

Maybe the plan was to never replace Fab and Hendo

I'm not expecting to see much of Thiago before he leaves us tbh.

Ideally we would sell him now buy a good CB.

Just a lottery with him I am afraid.  Would much prefer a CB to be honest but looks like it will be as is now

He wonā€™t be a starter every game anyway, he knows that JĆ¼rgen knows that, heā€™s still contracted so while he is heā€™ll feature when and if heā€™s fit enough for selection, but what a player to have in your armoury, to call upon when needed, his experience, calmness on the ball, his vision, the thru balls he can provide to runners like Mo Darwin Jota or Cody, is there anyone better equipped in the Premiership??

20 mins to go, weā€™re 1-1 in a Europa semi final, up against it, ran out of ideas, weā€™ve made 4 subs already and itā€™s looking grim, JĆ¼rgen throws the last dice , Thiago Alcantara, and the little magician does magical things, and the rest is history!!

Heā€™s a keeper but not of the Alisson type!!!

Like the rest...(most) of the squad his form last season dropped off a cliff, opposition players ghosted past him at ease, plus his passing game was way off. Let's hope with the energy of the new lads around him he can get back to those Rolls Royce performances that stand him out.
