I'm ambivalent on a Kimmich. I'll acknowledge that I've not watched him play a lot recently, mainly just at international tournaments. I'm quite cautious about signing 30yo players on free contracts. He's likely to get a very big wage as there will be a lot of competition for his signature. James Milner was obviously a very good signing for us as an experienced player but Kimmich could be another Thiago (very good but with regular fitness problems). Signing him is not consistent with our normal transfer policy. Personally, I'd rather sign a younger player who might cost a lot of money but will be on lower wages and can have a longer term place in the squad.

      Great point.

I am of the believer that an experienced player like Kimmich is great to have around but it definitely is 50/50 if it works in our favour or not.

A James Milner is great business but you could end up with a Casemiro on our hands.

Kimmich would imo be more a Milner type

      Probably.

Aina, Kimmich and David on frees. FSG will be rubbing their hands and licking their lips.

      I like your thinking.

His performance when we played them last month really convinced me he's the one, the engine and pace on him is ridiculous.

Those 4 would actually be a decent window but the main objective needs to be keeping Mo and Virg.

I like him more than Robinson at Fulham. Crack on like he did at Newcastle away for Bournemouth and he suit us down to the ground.

Think they are going to look at someone more like Hato who is a lcb as well

He must be the cheaper younger foreign option.

Yep - perfect for him to develop under both Robbo and VVD

Could well get him and a LB as well

If indeed Salah does leave after this season I truly have no clue who they could replace him with. However, if we are looking to sign a wide forward I would love to see Cunha in a red shirt. He has a touch of the Suarez unpredictability about him. Iā€™ve thought he looked excellent ever since his debut vs United at the start of last sessson when he ran them ragged. He has made great strides this season. It seems likely Nunez is off in the summer and I also wonder about Jota, great player but do often unavailable. Cunha can play across all three spots but particularly from the left or through the middle. Iā€™d hate to see him at a rival.

He does look very good but worry about his attitude- second time now he has lost his head and cost his team

I rate them about even, they've been the best 2 LB's in the league for the last 2 years. 10 assists for Robinson is incredible for any fullback but Kerkez has 6 years on him and he's ready now to take over the mantle piece from Robbo for the next 7-8 years.

Yup. Robinsonā€™s profile doesnā€™t work for us. 28yo by start of next season means you only have 2-3 years before you have to start thinking about his replacement.

      Kerkez would be perfect.

I'd be well pleased with either Hatto or Kerkez (both would be unbelievable), midfield - dunno, striker - dunno. I like Isak and Mbeumo but not sure they're realistic. Cunha - bit of a loose cannon. Not sure there are many others tearing it up in the European leagues except Gyokeres but haven't watched him much. Could be more of a development signing in that role.

If an offer for Diaz came in at his ā€œmarket valueā€ of 85m would you sell?  I love Diaz but at 28 it would be hard for me to say no.  Even for those that hate FSG, they have proven that when we sell, we buy. I can only imagine what we could do with the funds if we sold Diaz and Darwin on top of smaller sells lthat will happen.

Anything near 60m for Diaz we should be selling.

Selling players is the only way to raise funds to buy new players - it's the cycle of football, always has been....always will be. We don't have owners who put money in the club and we're not a massively profitable club.

I would not mind see him gone. I think he's as technically good as anyone but his end product is not good enough. I'm disappointed by his performance against PSG, again. HE's at the age where we should be able to rely on him, like we relied on Mane. Unfortunately, he's not at this level, and that's the level we need.

We need a pacy striker. Jota looked like he was in quick sand and allergic to contact. We really need to find a Suarez "type" of player. Mind you those aren't easy to find, but someone in that mold.

Where did the 85m figure come from? That's ridiculous. That Kvara guy cost less and he's some player.

He was going to leave. So Napoli could not ask for a very high fee.

That being said, I would rather have him than Diaz. I'm really disappointed by him after the game. I think he's very good, but not as good as we need him to be. The LW of Liverpool should be at the level of Mane : ie among the best of Europe.
