Can't see him coming here as a 2nd fiddle to Mo....He'll want firm assurances of playing time.
I’m not saying his role in the squad would be to purely be a backup for Mo, but that when Mo isn’t playing, Chiesa would be the player who would be the most natural replacement. I would expect Chiesa to compete and be in contention for a role in all of the forward positions.

Chiesa is right footed though, isn't he? I know he can play both sides but I think he's played his best through the left side.

Actually, the further back I look in his career, his season heatmaps do show he played a fair amount on the right too. I guess it's just the most recent season at Juventus (probably his best there) that he was mostly employed on the left.

Yes, but Gakpo and Jota don’t suit the right side. Diaz has looked decent there but hasn’t played there much. Chiesa would be a more natural fit than our other players.

Yea he played a lot from the right over the years.

      Versatile player.

Juve fans seem to think he's a greedy c*nt who overplayed his hand in contract negotiations. Not sure on that myself, or how he's performed since his big injury. I'm just stunned that there is no big clamour for his signature given the cheap price tag. It could still be good value, a Shaq type signing, which would add depth and in theory shouldn't have any bearing on how we strengthen other positions.

That's what I've read...is that he wanted a big pay rise and Juve said nah fam...we'll pass on that.

I'm actually surprised that there aren't ANY other teams in play here....that's why it seems like this might be an agent trying to drum up a market for a player that Juve desperately want off their books. I've also read he's been banned from their locker room. Don't know if that's true or not.

Barcelona were after him but have their issues with player registration

      No.

Italian players tend to not do well here but Dossena will go down in Liverpool folklore for scoring against Madrid and United in the same week.

Balotelli, Aquilani, Borini, Dossena the most notable Italians that have played for Liverpool.
Dossena the only one with a decent highlights package for goals in two 4-1 wins in the same week.

Was it Paletta who ended up playing for Italy but we bought him as an Argentinian?

No.....then again it's not like we ever signed Pirlo, Nesta, Maldini, Buffon, Zambrotta, Marchisio, De Rossi, Totti, Del Piero, Chiellini, Bonucci, Barzaghli, Cannavaro, Verratti......the list goes on.

I'm pretty sure if we (or any other Prem club for that matter) did, then they'd be less concern in ones mind about how Italians fare in the Prem.
