Have a funny feeling Nunez might be on his way out. If not now, then January.

He certainly needs to step up when he gets a chance

The fact that the fee is as low as being quoted must be cause for alarm....Every other premier league (even Championship) team could afford him...but Wolves, Leicester, Fulham, Bournemouth etc...Even Everton can afford him...but no interest, except from us.....and we don't really need him.

Can they afford his wages ?

And I’m going to suggest they had no interest because he wouldn’t go near them

      There was interest from Barcelona

Doubt anyone leaves (besides the youngsters) because someone that's been brought in to provide cover across the front 3 is being signed.

Still feel Jota and Nunez will be tied for minutes or thereabouts for that CF spot come the end of the season and I think Chiesa will likely end up getting games in a few positions.

Diaz/Gakpo - Jota/Nunez - Salah/Chiesa is a healthy front 6 as far as options go. Last season all our of 5 forwards produced 10+ goals, don't be surprised if all 6 do this season.

The signing of Chiesa means we have 22 senior players, 2 for every position.

I think it's unlikely too bt i can't quite imagine Chiesa coming to minutes in the Carabao Cup or off the bench. Things will look pretty crowded if he comes. I know the Champions League format has been expanded and no doubt we will have injuries but that's a lot of forwards. Still it's a good problem for Slot to have. I'll be very happy if he comes.

Who knows?....A club excepting such a low fee for a recognised International player is cause for alarm in my book.

He has one year left on his contract , manager doesn’t have him in his plans , let him go now for a small fee or for nothing in 12 months time

He has one year left on his contract and if it doesn't work out he cost about the same as Bobby Clark to Salzburg.

Seems like a deal that you can't pass up to be honest.

Our forwards look crowded till you factor in possible injury for Jota, resting needed for Salah and the inevitable slumps that players go through from time to time.

Chiesa's injury record is a bit worrying.  I guess he'll be used sparingly.

      Quite like this transfer.

A surprise to some, I certainly wasn't expecting another winger, but can see logic in having another RW option.

Look how humble and happy he looks.  :scarf: :scarf:

He’s buzzing and said his family are too. That’s what I want to hear! He’s going to love it at Liverpool.

I genuinely believe he will be an excellent addition.

Hopefully it's football reason and not medical reason to sign him ;D.   I means after we loss Thiago, Matip, Naby, Melo and Ox our medical dept. need someone so they sent a request and the boards gave them Chiesa  :lmao:

Seriously, an injury free Chiesa is a top player.  Very happy to have him at LFC.
