Good positive reply but while I'm generally happy with our progress under Slot, there are nagging issues. Midfield has done well  but hasn't produced that many goals, Also Nunez has to really step up. Roughing up defenders, tracking back enthusiastically isn't enough. I want goals.

Both full backs defensively were not strong enough. Positive yes but I want to see more drive, more purposeful attacking.I'm not writing us off but if we want to beat Mancheater115 we have to improve and that's my point. We have 3 home games next. I want much more evidence of our serious intent.

We have played 13 games won 11 of them

What more evidence do people need

Arsenal fans and their reactions are fast becoming an annoying itch up your backside

The fact Gabriel got injured whilst throwing himself on the floor to waste time was just deserts for him

I can’t believe how much time they were wasting at their home ground, they play so dirty with their time wasting and have the nerve to complain about refs and other teams.

They are still complaining about them not being allowed to break the rules

      As for the havertz goal,

      The foul before was 50-50

Then after that I am pretty sure he hand balled it yet they ignore that

Then after that I’m pretty sure  he pushed and fouled Trent to score the goal

I really hope we batter them at anfield

F**k that dirty club, remind me of Jose and way he made his team play dirty and then whine like victims afterwards

I really wish we bought a cm and cb now, imagine this squad with two quality additions

I can’t help but think when endo got the ball late on, Nunez was running free and all he needed to do was have the courage and quality  to play a through ball and he was in on goal to become a hero imo

Instead he went backwards for the safe ball and we still ended up losing the ball

Let’s hope we really target January and make a big title push as we have a chance now with the start we made

I would love to see the palace cb and a midfield player than can be rotated brought him

I thought our tactics were odd yesterday, we needed to dominate the midfield and didn’t overload it until the 2nd half but I felt we needed more legs in there imo

Remember, Arsenal had one more day to prepare and we were away in Germany too a day later

We also had our main striker and keeper missing, yet everyone goes on about Arsenal, not having a go but for me, Ali would have been more aggressive yesterday and we missed his presence in goal (not blaming kel) but that’s where we needed the best keeper in the world

They're an unbearable bunch. If there's one thing I learned in 4 years living in London, it is to hate Arsenal. Or maybe not hate, as that's giving them too much credit - but I enjoy it very much when they fail.

It’s like reading the media narrative

      “Haven’t played anyone” etc etc

We went to a place where in the last couple of seasons we have lost and grabbed a point when not playing great

What is it these days we people having F**k all belief in the team , players and manager

Yes we are contenders - serious contenders , we are stronger than Arsenal and we challenge city for the title and we will challenge them for the CL

Said before the season started that our squad is better than what people give it credit

It’s nearly a quarter of the season through now and we are right there with City

It’s time for more positivity about the team
I think we will be there or thereabout for the league, not because I think we are playing great (to watch) football..but because A. we are a fairly matched squad with all our rivals...and B. Slot's got us working hard (and especially hard to beat). I don't think Arsenal will win the league, But Haarland at City, and Palmer at Chelsea give both those sides a significant chance of winning it. (either of those two at our place and we'd walk it.)

As for calling for more positivity from the rank and file on this forum; I presume you do know that not a single utterance on here has any influence on how the team performs. They are all just opinions, some people like a good moan, others seldom moan...either way it'll make no difference to where we end up in May...Hopefully top.
      Have a good day.

I actually haven't given Slot 100% thumbs up. I never judge any coach over a dozen games or so. Very often the buying defines a managers time. I'm generally positive but it's far too early to be jumping over the moon.

Palmer ? The same one that spent 90 mins inside Jones pocket

The same Palmer who is behind Mo in terms of goals and assists - that Palmer ?

Also Mancheater115 have won this league...4 times on the feckin' bounce.....we have to stop them making it 5 on the bounce. That is what I'm saying. 'There or thereabouts'...we've been thereabouts too often..we need to be THERE..to stop Pep and his sky blue sh*te army.

So that's my yardstick...show we have what it takes to knock Pep off his feckin' perch.

Very decent result, a draw away to Arsenal. Unusual to concede two goals, although still heading in the right direction, under Arne Slot.

Unfortunately it’s a team that’s cheated and it takes a season of maybe 1 or 2 defeats only that gets someone to the top

The bar is ridiculously high now - 90 plus points needed

I thought the result was better than the performance. Really enjoyed the Salah goal as that was kind if a throw back to our old counter attacking effectiveness under Klopp (good vision from Nunez).

Jones in the 10 slot doesn't work for me. I can understand why he was given the start but I thought he wasn't effective in that position (as oppose to the deeper role he played). Still would like to see Macca given a try there but seems Slot has him penciled in for deeper role. Looking forward to Elliott's return as I think that would be his best position with the qualities he has. Right now think Dom is best we got atm.

Also high praise to Ibou who excelled under Slot system. Monster performance from him and Virgil

Good point about the goal and I think we'd have had more opportunities if we had played tighter in mid. 433 rather than 4231...keeping Jones deeper. He didn't seem to know what was expected of him. Too high and we were a man short, play central, come deep when we were under the kosh in the first half. He was in no mans land and the game passed him by.

Much tighter in mid and sharper for the second ball, quicker to close in on them, get possession and release. That's how we got the equaliser. Perhaps in tight away games we need a tight mid 3 and use the pace we have for the quick break out.

Pep insists they fight like cats & dogs to get back possession, once they lose it. Best I've seen from that aspect. Nobody gets an extra second on the ball when City lose possession. We are way behind that standard, not every week but often enough.

The 4231 system is effective at home but away it's a bit iffy. Leaves gaps in mid and our back 4 come under pressure quicker. Element of that in the first half. We need to hunt it down more, standing off or just sort of ambling up to a man is not ball pressure.

The Bayer Lever game will highlight that as they move the ball and keep possession.

ÂŁ400K+ seems reasonable enough...of course the ground rent (excuse the unintended pun) ..and the extortonate service charges need to be factored in.

You can never have too much knowledge...It's sad to know that no matter what age you're fortunate to live to, there'll never be enough time to read all them books you want to read.

Happy with the result yesterday. Was a strange game, not great to watch. They were on top our lads in the first half and we really struggled. 2nd half was much better, they say off a little bit and our midfield saw more of the ball. When you equalise with 10 minutes to play you have to be happy but I also felt there was a real opportunity topush on and win it after it went 2-2.

I thought Konate was superb, possibly his best game in the shirt. Nunez worked hard and is now finding a bit of consistency in terms of doing the simple things correctly. Hard to pick out too many others tbh. Was all about the result.
