Largely agree with that team and if it were up to me Endo, Kostas and Bradley would play the remaining 7 games but we all know Robbo, Szobo and Jota will start because he's doubling down on the impossibility that the players he's playing every week and travelling the world are tired.

A few wins away from getting this title so for me just get the 3 points and everything will take care of itself.  It's been a long gruelling season with a congested fixture list all season.   7 days between games we will get our second breath back very soon, hopefully next game against West Ham.

Would pretty much agree with your XI.

We need energy, running, intensity. Your XI gives us that. Dom is the one outlier in that he provides that, but his form has been poor.

Gakpo should be nowhere near starting until he does something from the bench. Chiesa has done that yet he never gets considered. Jota just does not do enough in games to warrant selection either.

Salah, our best player, needs support, and three players who would provide that are Bradley with his runs forward, Harvey with his link up play, and Nunez with dragging defenders out of position to open up space. Having Quansah/Jones at RB has meant no runs up field (no overlaps), Dom looks knackered and hasn't provided any link up with the forwards for a while, and Jota physically is a lightweight who rarely gets involved in general play. The last few team selections (RB choice enforced) have hindered Mo. That XI is much more catered to him.

Yep. And Leicester away - that should be a gimme.

No further encouragement for the Arse.

      Robbo will play next week.

Now that bombshell is done let's get to it.

      Alli

      Bradley
      Konate
      VVD
      Robbo

      Grav
      Macca
      Szob

      Salah
      Jota
      Diaz

On paper our best availiable XI and if anyone thinks we'll be seeing wholesale changes has taken no notice of what Arne is like.

These arent great so if we get our heads out of our arses well bag 3 points handy enough

Assume Ali will be back......back 4 in front of him needs major surgery, they were beyond sh*te yesterday....not sure whats changed in football that being sh*te is ok and you dont get dropped. Bradley and Tsimikas start for me and Id be very tempted to play Quansah over either 1 ok Konate or VVD. Virg seems immune to ever being criticised. I think hes been way off his best lately

Macca Grav and Jones my mid 3. Harvey in with Gakpo and Jota

Mo could not complain about being left out, in fact it might be what he needs

Actually play 2 3 1 4 or whatever we did for the last 10 yesterday from the start, it was way better then the sh*te we have been getting from our usual system lately

On paper our best availiable XI and if anyone thinks we'll be seeing wholesale changes has taken no notice of what Arne is like.

True he isn't one for changes, but I think the Harvey over Dom call is a fair one. The midfield (bar Mac who has consistently been quality) has been ropey for a while, with Grav and Dom looking knackered. Grav did okay yesterday (won 7 of his 10 duels), but Dom was not at it, and hasn't been for a while. We are clearly lacking that fifth choice starter in midfield as 4 for 3 slots is not enough for a whole season, thus there hasn't been enough rotation to keep players fresh. And If rotation is not a Slot thing, it will soon have to be as maintaining intensity for nine months cannot he done with the same XI. Another starting midfielder, ideally an athletic DM, has to be a priority in the summer.

Also think Nunez in for Jota is a fair shout, as Jota does not do enough in games. Jota has been at the scene of the crime in all of our major losses this season, starting every one. The team has to be catered to him, with players close to him and service inside the box, when it's Mo who we should be catering the team to. Mo needs a runner alongside him to drag defenders around and open up space, which Nunez will do.

When Jota is not scoring he contributes very little, thus is too often anonymous, a passenger, the opposite of Nunez. Having said that if the game is easier and we are camped in an opponent's half, so less is asked of a striker further outfield, then a penalty box player in Jota comes into contention as he can finish as we know. Looking ahead to summer though, a quality 9 has to be another priority as what we have right now (a strong, quick industrious 9 who cannot finish, and a lightweight largely anonymous 9 who can finish) is not enough.

Bradley, Elliot, Endo and Diaz should start. It's a shame that Gomez is unavailable and Quansah is a bit unreliable since both Konate and VVD should be on the bench.

Agree cannot afford to capitulate completely, even with an eleven point lead.

Need to play well in both halves of the rest of games, starting with West Ham next Sunday.

If we don't make any defensive gaffes, we will win this game. Easier said than done, I know.
Back four have to be switched on the whole game vs WHU.
I'm more concerned about our defending lately, then our front three forwards.

This would be my preferred line up.

      Allison

      Bradley  Konate VVD  kosta

          Grav Mac  Szob

      Salah  Nunez  Jota

I think with Salah on a grey patch would want Jota where he is at his best because he is still for me the second most likely scorer if played in his natural position.  I do think that Jota needs minutes on the left whether that be off the bench and starting with Diaz.

Not even going to try guessing starters or saying who I think should start (doesn't really matter anyway), I'd just like to see a team that looks like a team putting in a title winning team effort. Like stop F***ing around and play football the way you should be playing football.

                         Alisson
      Bradley - Konate - Virgil - Kostas
                     Grav - Macca
               Salah - Elliott - Gakpo
                          Nunez

Get a goal, whack Endo on and let him do his thing and secure the 3 points.

They will play that big lad fullkrug upfront as well and it doesnt bode well the way our cbs have been bullied recently.

Not just defence though, massive improvement all round needed or that gap will reduce quickly. The next 3 against bottom 6 teams 'should' see us almost there.
