If they cost us a league title having caused a circus around 3 players, 2 of whom are legends and want to stay, and another one who wants to leave , it will be the ultimate disgrace. Waiting for the signing window to open up maximizes players' leverage and waiting until contracts expire enables players to achieve their full value when no transfer fees are part of their financial equation.
