The appeal process is there to potentially rescind a blatant error made by the match officials( Inc. VAR). A blatant error for example being evidence that there was no contact. I believe the only way Mac's red can be overturned will be that it was deemed a genuine accident and that he was not overly aggressive. They might see sense and overturn it.
It looked way worse than it actually was, the fouled players foot wasn't planted, both players raised studs to win the ball just Mac was a little late.
Clear and obvious it was yellow at most so a blatant mistake by the ref in giving a straight red.
Should be rescinded.
