Brentford 1-4 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Feb 17, 2024 11:31:36 am

      Today's venue

Liverpool FC Starting XI: Kelleher, Endo, Van Dijk, Konate, Diaz, Nunez, Mac Allister, Jones, Jota, Robertson, Bradley.

Liverpool Subs: Adrian, Gomez, Salah, Gakpo, Elliott, Tsimikas, Gravenberch, McConnell, Quansah.

Liverpool make two changes for the lunchtime clash with Brentford as Mohamed Salah returns to the matchday squad.

Conor Bradley and Ibrahima Konate replace Trent Alexander-Arnold and Jarell Quansah in the alterations from last weekend’s win over Burnley.

Salah is named on the substitutes’ bench at Gtech Community Stadium, while Joe Gomez is also restored to the squad after illness, but Alisson Becker misses out due to injury.

Part of me does feel this is a little bit harsh on Joe Gomez.  Hope Robbo sticks in a performance because I thought Gomez would be harder to dislodge.

      I'm with you.

Could be to do with the run of games but like you I think Gomez had a case for feeling a bit hard done by give his consistency.

Robbo puts in one of his storming performances though and no one will be bothered

Good for Bradley  and we need him to carry on where he left off. It'll be a measure of his maturity today and will want to do it for his Dad.
Good that Joe getting a bit of a rest and his minutes can now be managed. He's been brilliant of late -but last thing we need is any more injuries with the forthcoming games and expect he'll get a run out after being ill.

Our record against these isn't the best so we need to turn it on and come away with the 3 points - nothing less. We don't want any complacency just cos they're sat in 14th in the table and we need to bury the bogey of never winning at their ground - as every pundit/commentator/gibsh!te keeps reminding me.

Out of the blocks running Red Men!

Last away win at Brentford in 1983?!?  Suppose we haven't played them too often.

Nice work from Bradley and Nunez - Jota should have been there.
