There is a lot to be said to promoting from within the club.
Jaros has looked better than Onana since he came on.
Keep him as 3rd choice if possible.

Incredible how someone that cost so much can be so bad.

Well whatever is said about a pretty open game. They had chances and we dealt with them. We had chances and they didn’t.
When we made the seven changes I thought we’d suffer a bit, but once the lads settled we looked better, apart from the occasional wayward pass.
Overall I was quite impressed, although the keeper kept giving me the jitters holding on to the ball so long.
It seems we’re gonna drop deeper defensively, work through the midfield keeping more control/possession of the ball then strike at pace.
Looks to be working ok and I’m quite looking forward to the new season.
Be nice to get a couple of players in for back up.
Perhss as ps a cb as konate looks dodgy at times and probably won’t play more that 3 game on, 6 off.
And Nico Williams would be a good buy and perhaps Antony Gordon 😊

Also, doesn’t it feel good to beat these wankers under any circumstances 😂😂

I know these games don’t count, but I gotta say I bet it feels better to win than lose to those fellas on the pitch. Liking the positivity that this brings. Slot may have some decisions to make on playing time. Feel like Carvalho is making a decent case for some game time.

They do not count BUT they remove some pressure and unwanted attention from the media.

      It gives momentum and confidence!

Pre-season results don't matter.  That is a fact.  We won 1 out of 5 the season we went on to win the Premier League.  They aren't indicators of how the season goes on.

However... what these results have done is (as somebody earlier said) is stop any unnecessary pressure building on the team and new manager.  Three defeats would have had the prophets of doom lining up before that kick off in Ipswich.

Full squad should be back together Tuesday and now Slot has to get the rest of them up to speed.  Onwards, reds.

Agree it is only the competive matches, that really matter, these are simply warm up games.

The results maybe don’t matter but there’s still things to be taken away from the performances, as a whole and individually. We’re definitely not in some post signing players slump where unless we sign so and so our season’s over before it’s even begun.

Got to be happy with the tour.

      3 Games
      3 Wins
      6 Goals scored
      1 Conceded

      Postives:
      - Salah and Jota both look very sharp
      - Connor Bradley has impressed and will give Trent plentyof competition this season. HE has linked well with Salah and gotten forward at every opportinity.
      - Harvey Elliott has had a good tour, he has been in the middle of everything good.
      - Kelleher has looked good, same goes for the backup Jaros (albeit he scares me when he has the ball at his feet.)
      - Young Nyoni looks a real prospect. He definately has the technical ability to play in a side looking to control possession. Maybe he'll go on loan but i think he may see some minutes this season.
      - Was also great to see Bacjetic looking fit and able to get a full pre-season under his belt.
      - Maybe there is even a role for Carvalho this season. Personally i think he will get sold BUT he will certainly have helped the transfer fee if he does.

      Questions:
      - We haven't really dominated the ball the way Slot wants. In both the manc and Arsenal games we have looked dangerous on the break and have been clinical but didn't see as much of the ball as we'd like. I wonder if our midfield is lacking something on that front? Certainly Mac will make a massive difference.

      - We have looked a little vulnerable t the press when our defenders are on the ball. I hope Slot still gives the boys the freedom to play some diags and turning balls with the pace we have in the team.

Scoreline flattered us slightly but always a pleasure to do Mancheater United. Thrash at them at Ludo given the chance so very satisfying all round.

Kelleher once again looked very sharp. Great that, far as I know, he's not looking to get out. Must have the best 1 &2 keepers in world club football.Obviously not got the full squad back yet but warming up nicely.

I liked Arne's take on the game not that concerned about the result more critical of performance.  Think he will prove to be a very good choice

Arne certainly is somewhat of a perfectionist isn't he? Pinpointing out the negatives first outspokenly and what we could've done better.

Considering the number of players we were missing it's been a fun ride.

The squad should be back in Liverpool later today, maybe we'll see the first full training session with the whole group taking place tomorrow.

So far so good. Squad looks good. Main thing is no injuries.

2 weeks to start of season proper.
