There’s so many more though Walt, we’ve been blessed with many great players thru the yrs, so Yh maybe trimming it down to the decade would be more appropriate?

When you think about it F**k nuts, you had yer golden era from what ‘86’ to ‘13’ I reckon in that time you had probably yer best players in that era, aside from those poor souls of 1958, notable’s being Duncan Edwards, Tommy Taylor, Billy Whelan, the class of ‘92’ was/is yer best decade, you can add three more in Best, Law & Charlton,

Now if you then think about the players we’ve had throughout the last 6 decades I think you’ll find we’ll out class you in terms of top players, we had our own mini slump if you will when we were signing players like Sean Dundee, and that Horrible Cnut Diouff, yes there were many more sh*t players but not as many as you’re lot has had,

Thing is, yer still signing them now thx to Eric 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

I've not included some players, like Roger Hunt, because I never saw them kick a ball. Others I haven't seen enough of, or can't remember, like Keegan, Terry Mac, Toshack, R. Kennedy, and Case. Also didn't include Trent because he's got a good few years to go yet (hopefully with us). Those current players I have included, I did so because they are that good and have been for many years:

      1. Suarez (so clever, high IQ football brain, simply the best)
      2. Gerrard (literally could do anything)
      3. Kenny (the King)
      4. Barnes (the entertainer, so good on the wing)
      5. Rush (nobody scored more goals for us)
      6. Salah (record speaks for itself, especially in this day and age)
      7. Fowler (best finisher I've seen at LFC)
      8. Torres (so much pace, scored tap-ins, thunderbolts, or dribbled through defenders, did it all)
      9. Hansen (composed, consistent, Rolls Royce defender - gets the nod over Virge purely on longevity)
      10. Virgil (composed, consistent, Rolls Royce defender)
      11. Owen (in his prime, unplayable)
      12. Aldridge (only two seasons but what a finisher)
      13. Bobby (such an intelligent player - made that front 3 tick)
      14. Mane (powerful, pacey, direct, and a very decent goal scorer)
      15. Beardsley (so tricky)
      16. Heighway (gave fullbacks nightmares)
      17. Souness (last of the genuine hardmen)
      18. Lawrenson (brilliant defender)
      19. Sami (Mr. Consistent)
      20. Alonso (could open a can of beans with his foot)

      Goalkeepers
      1. Ali
      2. Clemence
      3. Grobbelaar
      4. Reina

Salah is definitely the biggest Liverpool star in the 21st century after Gerrard. Gerrard is an icon because he's English, Scouse and was an exceptional player.
Salah is probably the biggest player we have had since Gerrard and to whom we owe the most of the recent success. It's hard to make a list.

I'm not from England, so for me if Salah is in the top 3, Gerrard should be too and this leaves room for only one player and I think Liverpool has had legendary players like Kenny who deserves these spots.

In terms of pure talent, technical ability and even winning mentality, I think Suarez might be even better than Salah and Gerrard.

Quite a few all fall under the same bracket including Le Tissier.

If in your opinion Mo takes one of the top three spots, where on earth does Alison Becker fit in  ???

Seems a lot of people are overlooking how good John Barnes was for us.

He was F***ing unreal. And as left footed wingers go, for me he was our best.

Does that make Mo not a top three player? Nah because even if one person thinks he is then he is. But he wouldn’t make mine unfortunately and this is coming from someone who argued relentlessly last summer about cashing in on him when others were so keen to.

Goalkeepers and even defenders often get overlooked in these conversations.

Clem and Ali both make the top 15.

Comparing eras is just not my thing. If a guy like Suraez played for Shanklys team, we would've won games 10-0 ( or his career would've been ended pretty quickly by a hard nose defender who said enough is enough). How good would Hansen be with the treatment and advancement of today's technology and equipment? We will never know.

I say enjoy Mo for the moment, who knows how long we will have him.
