I dreamt last night that Joe Gomez scored but I can't see Slot playing him (I wish he'd at least bring him on instead of the ineffective Kostas).

Can't see Slot starting Endo, Quansah or Gakpo either but I think it's about time Nunez got a good 70' to prove himself.  The pressure's on but I think we'll lay Saturday's performance to rest and have a good game, bringing the 3pts back to Anfield.

I’m all for making changes mate but throwing young inexperienced lads under the European bus wouldn’t be one of them, I kinda agree to you’re Not wanting to see theory and that applies to Grav more than most, we can’t afford to become over reliant on certain individuals, so I’d be resting Gravenberch for this one,….

Don’t expect us to be fleet of foot or to be in their face hunting for a 0-3, a nice solid performance avoiding defeat would suffice for me, this new CL format is a marathon within a marathon, the group we are in is pretty tasty so any points away from home will prove extremely beneficial further up the pipe, also it’s the ideal time to rotate and use what we have at a time where it’s more than vital,
Resting major components and allowing fringe players valuable game time minutes, we’ve been guilty in the past of over playing players who eventually are run into the ground,

So use what we have more often, and switch players in their positions, 60-65 mins then change, Kostas for a hour, then Robbo to the end for example….do the reverse next league match ?



Is Chiesa ready, nice tie to find out isn’t it, he’ll be chomping at the bit for sure, Gakpo hungry, Nunez…F**k knows but it will be fun, dependable midfield, reliable defence, what’s the worst that can happen…but it won’t….

I doubt he'll be used but the only real youngster I've included is Nyoni, mainly because I've been impressed with what I've seen and should therefore be rewarded, and it's more of a 50/50 with Morton.

I think a game like this would be better to ease him into than any Prem game (except for 1 where we're 3-0 up with 10 to go).

Remember a certain 18 year old Morton starting at San Siro only a few years ago? Klopp put his trust in him, played the 90 and never looked out of his depth. We won the game comfortably 2-0.

Jones has played over 130 games for the club

Represented England at every level including winning major tournaments at U21 to the point that he was called into the England squad before the Euros

Nyoni hasn’t proven anything to suggest he is “on another level”

You're probably right yes which is why I put "/Morton" & it doesn't change the fact I'd rather see either play than Jones or an exhausted Mac. It's not so difficult to comprehend amigo.

Looking forward to this… would probably start Endo in there with Macca and Ryan in front, and would even be tempted to use Mo from the bench… and start the Italian vs the Italians… pretty confident of a win though.

I would expect (hope ) we will see 3 or 4 changes to the side from the weekend. Looking at this new UCL format and simulations the magic number to qualify for the knockout is 8 or 9 points. Yes we should be looking more towards top 8 spot but really the threshold lower then the group stage format.
